Co-Founder & Managing Partner Kinship VenturesFounding Member, Iranian Diaspora Collective & Global Freedoms

I’m an Iranian-American entrepreneur, investor, and operator working at the intersection of culture, technology, and commerce. I’ve spent my career helping founders, creators, and leaders cut through complexity, make smarter decisions, and build leverage that lasts.
As the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Kinship Ventures, which I built alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, I focus on backing high-agency founders and TAM creators, the builders inventing new markets and shaping the next era of human progress. Kinship is a multi-stage venture platform investing from inception to IPO across Consumer Tech, AI-Enabled Tools & Fintech, Behaviorally Intelligent Products, CPG 2.0, and Health & Wellness Infrastructure.
Our portfolio includes OpenAI, MoonPay, Gemini, TeraWulf, Olipop, Vyrao, Caddis, and Goop Kitchen.
Previously, I was a Partner at Intuition Capital, a seed-stage venture fund investing in early consumer and technology companies such as Poppi, Bonza, Public, Chroma, Starface, Bilt, and Owner.com.
Before entering venture capital, I served as CEO of Beautycon Media, where I helped grow a small community of creators and fans into a global platform for Gen Z and Millennial audiences across the U.S., U.K., Asia, and the Middle East. During that time, I also partnered with Shopify’s leadership to integrate digital retail and commerce tools that transformed Beautycon into one of the first hybrid models connecting content, community, and commerce. Under my leadership, Beautycon became a bridge between culture and commerce, helping reshape how the beauty industry understood inclusion, identity, and influence. Our white paper, FOMO Vol. 1, was one of the first of its kind to analyze emerging consumer behavior in the digital age.
Beyond venture, I advise executives, political figures, diplomats, and global organizations on media intelligence, digital ecosystems, and narrative strategy, helping them understand how audience behavior and cultural signals shape public sentiment and global markets.
I’m also the founder of Global Freedoms and a founding member of the Iranian Diaspora Collective (IDC); two initiatives dedicated to advancing democracy, human rights, and access to information. These organizations have launched global advocacy efforts including the Times Square “Women, Life, Freedom” campaign and initiatives to maintain internet access for Iranians during government shutdowns.
Earlier, I co-founded BeautyUnited, a not-for-profit platform dedicated to mentorship, access, and opportunity for the next generation of beauty and wellness leaders.
I’ve been recognized by Fast Company (Most Creative People in Business), The Hollywood Reporter (Top 25 Digital Power Players), Variety (Digital Executives to Watch), Marie Claire (50 Most Influential Women), and Women’s Wear Daily (Digital Power Posse). My work has been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Forbes, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Business of Fashion, and WWD. I’m also a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute.
I live in Los Angeles with my wife, Professor Dr. Roya Rastegar, our two sons, and our Airedale.
